Many industrial and commercial premises will have been the subject of an inspection by a Water Company Regulations Inspector, who will have advised the installation of one or more RPZ valves in order to keep your premises Water Regulations compliant – and to safeguard the quality of drinking water in the area.
DSJ Pipework offer RPZ valve installation services for many diverse industries.
What are RPZ valves
RPZ valves provide a low cost, viable alternative to the installation of Break-Feed Cisterns, (Water cisterns with built-in air gaps to prevent back-siphonage and contamination from water used for industrial processes). RPZ valves are much easier and cheaper to install but require the annual inspection and testing mentioned earlier, a service which is available from IWS through its Pipeline Services Division.
There is a legal requirement that RPZ valve inspection, testing and certification is carried out on a minimum of an annual basis. The purpose of this is to ensure the continued compliance of water installations, particularly where water is used in any process, with the Water Fittings Regulations (1999). It is important to note that the purpose of these regulations is to prevent the misuse, waste, undue consumption or erroneous measurement of water and, most importantly of all, to prevent the contamination of drinking water.
We would be pleased to discuss your project requiring RPZ installation and provide you with a quotation.
